Two top photographers give free seminar - March 2006

For 1.5 hours keen photography students sat spell bound by the stories and images of two of Perths’ leading commercial photographers.

Darryl Peroni and Christian Sprogoe were Site Unseen committee members and both studied at TAFE.  They finished studying just 6 years ago and now have contracts with companies such as The Western Force and several large mining organisations.

They shared their experiences as emerging photographers as well as the path they have travelled to secure the contracts they have.

They gave tips on battery warming for minus 20 degree Celsius and were eager to answer everyone’s questions!

Join us at the next Seminar in September, when the 07 Judges will impart their industry knowledge.

Site Unseen Collection in Sydney

06 committee members, Dave and Jem, went to Sydney during the Photo Imaging World Show and APPAs in May.   Their main job was to hang the collection at the Sydney Convention Centre, and then at the Global Gallery!  Hanging the 200-odd frames (twice) is no easy task, so a BIG thanks to Kerina Puttman, Sugandren Ganess and Clare Beardsley for their help!

On May 3 Sydney formally welcomed the Fujifilm Site Unseen 2006 Collection.  All three major sponsors attended the party (Fujifilm Professional, Epson Prographics and the Photo Library) as well as the media, entrants, and locals.  The 07 competition opens this month so we’re looking forward to many more N.S.W students featuring in the next edition.

Site Unseen Mount boards Fundraiser.

On thursday the 15th of June, the Fujifilm Site Unseen committee held a small fundraising stall at Central TAFE in Northbridge, mostly selling white window mounted boards that weren't used for the exhibitions for only $2, but also as an excuse to advertise the opening of our competition to all the students at TAFE.

We weren't expecting a huge response due to it being held at the very end of semester, but the stall was a huge success!
